Rev. Doug Ward

Senior Fellow, Faith Communities

Rev. Douglas Ward has served in pastoral ministry for 45 years in Vancouver and Calgary, and thirty-eight of those years as pastor of Kanata Baptist Church in Ottawa. He is passionate about shepherding the congregation through preaching, discipleship, and discerning creative means to minister to his local community.

For the past two decades he has worked as a mentor/coach with Arrow Leadership, a training program where emerging and executive leaders find clarity, confidence, and competency in their kingdom ministries.

Doug has a passion for justice issues in areas of refugee settlement, child poverty, and dialogue between Christians and Muslims in the Middle East and North African region.

Through his years in Ottawa, he has increasingly engaged his faith in the public square through relationships with Members of Parliament, diplomats, and other organizations seeking to apply the Christian faith to the critical cultural issues of the day.

Doug is an avid Arsenal football supporter, an e-bike enthusiast, and lover of Jeeps. He and his wife Meredith keep very busy with their three daughters, sons in law, and seven grandchildren.
